When You Want to Check In With Your Light

8/2/22

Dear friend,

In my last letter to you, I talked about how the upcoming Light Rising workshop and (optional) group experience can help you if you've been wanting to move forward on something important to you, but life keeps getting in the way.

(If you missed that letter, you can find it here.)

But maybe you don't have a project or idea like that.

Maybe what you need is a chance to check in with your light overall.

In the light assessment that helped me realize the need for the Light Rising workshop and groups (more on that here), one of the questions asks the top 1-3 places you're invited to bring your light in this season.

Of the 220 responses I reviewed, I noticed two things:

  1. Virtually everyone named 3 places. No one had a problem coming up with three.

  2. Virtually all the places named fell into three categories: work, people, and self.

Work. It might be your job—how you do it. It might be your co-workers—how you connect with them. It might be your church or a place you volunteer—how you serve others. It might be a small business—how you bring your gifts to the world. It might be a project pouring forth from you from the heart—an expression of yourself for the betterment of what's here.

People. A spouse or partner. Children. Parents. Siblings. Friends. Many of us find our light being brought to the world in the relationships we keep.

Self. It's amazing how many people said some version of, "In this season, I'm being invited to bring my light to myself." This often meant seasons of inner healing work, self-care, therapy, boundary work, or the like. I love how this showed how many of you already know your light isn't just meant for others. It's also meant to shine on you.

So here's my question: Could you use a check-in with yourself around these things?

These people and places and parts of your life are sacred. They're where you're invited to be right now. They're where you actually show up.

How are you showing up?

As you show up, what's happening for you?

Is it hard? Do you find yourself running into walls or getting frustrated or resentful? Do you find yourself in moments where you think, "Dang. I'm struggling to be the person I want to be in that situation. I wish I could find another way to respond."

The Light Rising workshop gives you that chance to pause and notice. To take those moments to consider. To think about who you are, what's happening in those moments, and if you want to make any changes.

One big project or three small areas—either one works with this workshop.

Might it be right for you?

Yours in contemplative light,
Christianne
